Lead Backend Engineer (Django)

You'll own the core of Bamudda's backend — the multi-tenant Django services behind checkout, inventory, billing and payments, and the data models that keep every tenant's data fast and isolated. This is the code the whole platform depends on, so correctness, performance and clarity matter.
You'll set backend patterns, mentor other engineers, and partner with payments and DevOps to ship money-movement features that simply work. The role is fully remote and open worldwide.
What you'll do
- Design and ship core services: checkout, inventory, billing, payments
- Own data modelling across schema-per-tenant PostgreSQL
- Build and maintain the internal and public APIs
- Review code, mentor engineers and keep quality high
- Partner with DevOps on performance, observability and scale
What you'll bring
- 5+ years Python/Django in production
- Strong PostgreSQL; multi-tenant experience a big plus
- Payments/fintech integration experience valued
- You write clear, well-tested, maintainable code
