Frontend Engineer

You'll build the interfaces merchants live in and the storefronts their customers shop from — fast, accessible, delightful, and dark-mode ready. Our stack is Tailwind, Alpine and HTMX, and we care about the details: the 4px radius, the empty state, the loading skeleton.
You'll turn designs into responsive, resilient UI, develop new storefront themes, and keep the experience consistent across the dashboard and the shop. This is a hybrid role based in Kampala.
What you'll do
- Build dashboard features with Tailwind, Alpine and HTMX
- Develop new storefront themes for the marketplace
- Champion accessibility, performance and dark mode
- Collaborate closely with design on a shared component system
- Polish interactions, empty states and loading behaviour
What you'll bring
- 3+ years building product UI
- Excellent HTML/CSS/JS fundamentals; Tailwind experience
- Comfort with server-rendered, HTMX-style apps
- An eye for detail — you sweat the 4px radius

- Pair with AI coding assistants (e.g. Claude Code) to scaffold, refactor and review changes faster
- Use AI to draft tests, migrations and documentation, then verify and harden them
